The LifeCard Privacy Policy
Emergency
24, Inc., (“EM24”) values the privacy of our LIFEcard Home
Members or Property or Business Owners and takes precautions to
safeguard their personal data and contact-related information
from unauthorized use. The following is a detailed explanation
of our privacy policy with regard to the LIFEcard Home web site
and our Services.
EM24 offers secure database services to our Members and to other
individual(s) (Property or Business Owners).
EM24 does
not lease, license, sell or share any Member or Property or
Business Owners personal data or contact information with anyone
or with any entity that is not authorized under the terms and
conditions of the Services requested by the Member or Property
or Business Owner.
EM24 does
not capture any credit card information. All transactions go
through Verisign, one of the largest credit card transaction
processors in the Internet.
Member(s) and other individual(s) have the ability to access and
to maintain their account data and information via the Internet.
Some of the information gathered and available through this
service includes: 1)
general contact information for the premise: Member or Property
or Business Owner name, address, email addresses, phone numbers,
password; 2) general contact information for individual(s)
designated as an interested party by the Member or Property or
Business Owner: name, address, email addresses, phone numbers.
As a user of our web site and/or a participant in our LIFEcard
Home Service, you hereby acknowledge that certain personally
identifiable information concerning you and your contacts are
collected and stored by EM24 and may be viewed by employees of
EM24 in order to properly perform the services that you are
requesting. All EM24 employees have signed confidentiality
agreements, and their backgrounds have been checked through
state and federal agencies. EM24 assigns a Property
Identification Number to your property. The Property
Identification Number is placed on a Decal(s) that EM24 sends
you to prominently display on or near your property.
People who
are authorized and may view or access your personal data and
contact information are those who have direct access to your
“Username” and “Password”. EM24 has no control over who is
authorized and anyone with knowledge of the “Username” and
“Password” can access the account and may modify the data. It is
solely the responsibility of the Member or Property or Business
Owner to keep secure and safeguard the “Username and Password”
for the LIFEcard Home Account.
Member or
Property or Business Owner has three options for allowing other
people than those described above to access their personal
contact information. They may choose to: 1) “Publish” all of
the personal contact information; 2) “Publish” some of the
personal contact information and keep some of the personal
contact information “Private”; or 3) ‘Not-Publish” any of the
personal contact information and keep all of the contacts
“Private.” If Member or Property or Business Owner chooses to
“Publish” any information, that information is available to any
person who enters the Property Identification Number at the
www.LIFEcardHome.com web site or who calls LIFEcard Home
Customer Service Department and gives the representative the
Property Identification Number.
In the case
of “Non-Published” contacts, when a person wishes to report an
incident at a property and either goes to the
www.LIFEcardHome.com web site or calls a LIFEcard Home
Customer Service Representative, the system or the
representative will attempt to capture the person’s
identification and contact information and reason for the
incident report. Then, one or more LIFEcard Home Customer
Service Representative(s) will make the notification(s) to the
people or entities designated by the Member or Property or
Business Owner to contact.
If a
third-party individual or entity accesses Members or Property or
Business Owners personal data and contact-related information
through “authorized” channels, EM24 is NOT responsible for how
that third-party individual or entity secures and safeguards the
Card Holder’s personal data and contact-related information.
Another time
someone other than those describe above will be authorized to
see the Members or Property or Business Owners personal data and
contact-related information is in the case of a judicial request
(such as a subpoena) or if EM24 or part of EM24 is acquired or
sold. In the event that the latter happens, EM24 will give
reasonable notice to all existing Members or Property or
Business Owners of its LIFEcard Home Services.
EM24
reserves the right to change this privacy policy at any time and
will notify you accordingly if any such changes take place.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact
our general counsel at
pjd@emergency24.com.
